IPM

What is Integrated Pest Management (IPM)?

  • IPM is a pest management program that integrates multiple practices for pest control.
  • These systems aim to suppress pest populations below a predetermined economic injury level (EIL).
  • IPM extends the concept of integrated control to all classes of pests including plant pathogens, insects, and weeds.
  • It also allows for safer pest control and is expanded to include all control tactics such as pesticides, host-plant resistance, and cultural manipulations.
