    The Ohio Grape & Wine Conference (OGWC) will take place on February 15-16, 2016, at the Embassy Suites – Dublin/Columbus. The conference is jointly organized by the Ohio Grape Industries Committee (OGIC), Ohio State University Extension, Department of Horticulture and Crop Science Viticulture and Enology Programs at OSU-OARDC and the Ohio Wine Producers Association (OWPA). The 2016 conference consists of both general and concurrent sessions covering a wide range of interesting topics for grape growers and winemakers.

Join us for a daylong workshop and learn the basics of grapevine propagation techniques, vineyard management, fine tuning wines during the aging process, sensory evaluation of wines, and identification of key pests in Ohio.     We are pleased to offer the 4th OQW sensory evaluation of Ohio commercial wines in the 2015 calendar year taking place on November 24, 2015 for seal designation. Unfortunately, due to the past two winters and the harsh conditions received lessening the amount of qualifying wines for the program, we were not able to host the August OQW sensory evaluation. We are hopeful that there will be enough wines submitted for the November sensory evaluation.

    We are pleased to offer the 3rd OQW sensory evaluation of Ohio commercial wines in the 2015 calendar year taking place on August 26, 2015 for seal designation. The OQW program is seeing increased interest and participation which is good to observe. We are once again looking forward to evaluating wines for submittal into the OQW program. Therefore, we would like to cordially invite you to participate and contribute to the progress of our industry by identifying wines of consistent quality throughout the Ohio commercial wine industry from the 2014 or previous vintages.
